after mkt G43 magazine - problem

Hi- Very occasional poster here. I purchased from a seller in Mass. a G43 magazine a while back. Same seller offers them on eBay and Gunbroker, I am pretty sure. Mine came from eBay. Tried it for the first time two days ago and it does not feed in my duv 44. The bullet seems to be too low...

    firing pin tip repair

Thanks all!!! 2700 fps lightning fast responses, all spot on. Got the PM with the tip repairman's email contact. I kinda/sorta learned a bit from the archives about hardening, metal, etc., and my friend knows these things much more comprehensively, but he hopes for another stab at a repair and...

    firing pin tip repair

Hi- Posting for a friend. (I myself am only an occasional poster here). He has a Gew98 and the tip of the firing pin was nipped off when he got the rifle. All matching numbers, including firing pin. Asking on this forum b/c I assume the issue with a 98k and G98 fp is the same and more people...

    1917 dwm g98

Gents= Thanks so much for the responses. I promise better pics next time, but that may be a while since my friend and I live a ways from one another. I think, Loewe, that your assessment is spot on. My friend is more a US Civil War collector but likes Imperial German and has been after a Gew...

    1917 dwm g98

Posting for a friend who got this last month in Baltimore at the big antique arms show. Nice, all matching except the cleaning rod. (He also picked up two M98 bayonets which I have posted about in the appropriate forum.) I am really sorry for the poor pics. Hastily taken. And, again in haste...

    Two M98 WW I bayonets-markings questions

Posting for a friend. He recently acquired two M 98 bayonets with scabbards. Please see pics. Can anyone identify/give the meaning of the markings on the bases of the blades. (Not the best pics, sorry.) One has 4 GG R 5.205 *and* crown over W 01. The other has B 2R 10.94 *and* VCS *and crown...

    repro bek Hensoldt Dialytan repair...help

Well I took it apart. It was a matter of removing two screws and off came the turret. The picture shows the components. If anyone knows of a firm which can fabricate the broken threaded sleeve to which the cap screws on and which, on the inside, has the notches which make the elev adjustment...

    repro bek Hensoldt Dialytan repair...help

I got this scope a number of years ago from Bob at PDM Iron Elite. Sorry for the horrible picture but I can post more, better ones, if requested. It goes on a bcd 4 rifle which I got, sporterized, from a local gun shop. Very nice set up for a reproduction sniper rifle. Alas, I futzed up the...

You are 100 percent right. I should have stopped before I started and am lucky, if dumb and stupid. Won't do that again. Brian

"stiff loading" 8mm Romanian ammo in a 98K

Wow! Thanks for the heads up. I managed to shoot all twenty without mishap, I hope, and that's all I had. Cases are not cracked but every round was a b*tch to chamber. I think this was purchased from S-mans Guide. I was going to mic it and compare with the old good Romanian milsurp and may do...

"stiff loading" 8mm Romanian ammo in a 98K

I went shooting today and found that chambering recent production Romanian ammo was a chore when it came time to close the bolt handle. Never had this problem before with this or any 98K. I usually use older Romanian steel case lacquered ammo, from a big tin, which I purchased 15 years ago...
