I remember seeing that one. I wouldn’t worry about the messed with stock too much. For the price you paid you could have done far worse for your first one.

Hi pat, thanks. This all that I’m seeing on the rear sight base marking wise.

After a long search I finally found a matching non import M24. This rifle bares no import markings and no German modifications. When I purchased this rifle it was completely covered in a very thick black hard tar. I very carefully removed the excess without getting too aggressive. -Tristan

This is one I picked up a while back. Barrel shank is blank minus serial on the left side.

The level of “germanizing” kind of varies. I have one that’s German matched. Bands bottom metal, floor plate all marked. While it retains original furniture and does not have a German firing proof.

Regardless if it is or isn’t legit, the price is bonkers.
