WaA Mark on Magazine Spring ???

Thanks for the assistance. Looking at my second photo it appears the top "circle" on the middle digit is smaller in diameter than the bottom "circle", which likely indicates it is the number 8. Sure had me fooled there for awhile.

WaA Mark on Magazine Spring ???

If it is 280 then the "8" has the left portion cleanly broken off of the stamping tool because looking at it with a magnifying glass it looks to clearly be a "3". I am posting two photos but I can't get a clear photo of the mark, its just too small for my camera.

WaA Mark on Magazine Spring ???

I disassembled the follower and mag spring on what is likely an RC rifle because the parts are mixed. However, I'm perplexed about the magazine spring. It is marked with WaA230 or possibly 236. The first two digits are definitely 2 and 3, but the last digit on the stamping tool was obviously...

    ZF41 Adapter

Did the Germans actually use these adapters? Would this be an original item or more likely a reproduction? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250709805167&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

    Question about cupped buttplates ......

Is there any info about which manufacturer used which buttplates? I have seen photos of byf 41 rifles with buttplates marked brg 41, other byf 41 rifles with bpr 41 buttplates, byf 42 rifles with undated brg buttplates, byf 43 rifles with undated gqm buttplates, byf 43 and byf 44 rifles with...

    byf 42 Bolt question .....

What is most commonly encountered on a byf 42 rifle, a bolt that is all WaA140, all WaA135, or a mix? Were all bolt parts on byf 42 rifles marked with a WaA or had it by 1942 already been discontinued on some parts? Did FN supply M/O with 98k parts in addition to bolt parts and front...

    Personal opinion question

The vets who brought these home either had plans to shoot them or to just hang them on the wall to look at. If they intended to shoot it they likely would have repaired the duffle cut. If you encounter a rifle with a duffle cut repaired sixty years ago by a vet, does that detract from the...

Could someone educate me about ejector boxes ....??

Thanks for the info ..... Unfortunately, the box does not have the spring in it. I assume it was missing all along and since I have never fired the rifle I did not notice the ejector was not functioning properly. Does the spring just sit in place in the box and is held there by tension? When...

Could someone educate me about ejector boxes ....??

I have never previously disassembled an ejector box and am puzzled about what I have encountered. I just obtained an unmarked ejector box that has a very nicely marked WaA655 side plate and I wanted to utilize the side plate on a 1940 rifle that has some mismatched parts, one of which is an...

    Question about armorer spares ......

Do parts that are armorer spares generally have to be fitted? I recently acquired some armorer spares and amongst them were several cocking pieces with a WaA140 mark. I tried these on several firing pins and none of them would turn to lock. Is this common? If it is, how does one go about...
