Hello,
I have this k98 k early sling.
All parts are unmarked except a Weimar eagle at the end of the sling but i can't read markings under the eagle.
Have you got an idea about the marking or manufacturer?
Regards
Damien

Interesting sling. I’m not even sure if that’s a Waa or maybe a depot marking. Interesting that the cross hatching goes the “wrong way” and that the stud bar on the buckle doesn’t have knurled ends.

Check the raw side for markings, buckle end after the stitching ends.

The WaA was founded November 8, 1919, as Reichwaffenamt (RWA) and changed to Heerswaffenamt (HWA) on May 5, 1922 (see link). The letters in the pics do not look like either of those. I have a Wiemar era frosch (Haltestuck) that has the Weirmar eagle (like the one in OP`s pic) on it, but it has a 3 inside of a circle under it.

Yeah I’m not sure what’s printed under the eagle but not those I don’t think
Was the opposite cross hatch an interest thing?

I don`t recall ever seeing the cross hatch done like that before. Maybe some of the other guys have and will comment.
There is one frosch at the sling web site, that is done that way.
