1917 Erfurt Kar98a mm block

Here is a really nice rifle that was offered to me privately kinda out of the blue. I saw just a few quick cellphone photos of it and decided just to buy it. The rifle is in original 1917 form without any alterations or reworking, 100% matching…. I will let the photos do the talking on this piece. Enjoy

I'm really digging this one. It's pretty late in 17 and Is about this textbook as it gets. Glad you picked it up. It looks suspiciously like one in the first chapter of volume one. 🤔
 
What is the meaning of the XT on the underside of the rear sight? First time I’ve noticed this. Was it an update? Nice clean rifle.
 
Fantastic rifle, congrats on getting such a nice one! Interesting the 3 on the rear sight almost looks more like a 5 to me. I really need to get around to picking a Kar98A...

That is interesting…. I didn’t notice that until you mentioned it
 
Super rifle Jory. Perhaps it's confirmation bias, but it always seems to me that high condition Kar98a's are more common than like condition Gewehr 98s. Thanks for sharing.
 
I’m a big fan of this one too. Personally, I really like the Imperial rifles with later stock features. Though I’ve yet to own one…
