Any ideas where to pick up a Mauser Banner stock?

This came with another surprise item (I'll post that in a couple days after I get it cleaned up) that made the whole package deal worth it. At a minimum I'll throw a 98K stock on it and it will be what it is, but if I can find a Mauser banner stock that would be better...but a long shot. Even so these Banner rifles are cool, DRP Dusseldorf marked in the sling well of what remains of a nice sporterized stock, mismatched bolt of course. Chris...

Maybe one of those Ethiopian or Chinese contract standardmodells that got imported a few years back? Not quite right of course but more right than a k98k stock. They could be in pretty rough shape but you might find something acceptable.

A bit less correct than that but easier to source would be a Vz24 stock. You get the finger groves so it will at least look OK at a glance. Pair that with a hardwood k98k handguard and it should look OK at least.

Gew98 barrel bands to complete the look. It won’t be 100% spot on but still better than a 98k.

how about an Israeli replacement stock? ( if you can find one) Solid beech, has finger grooves, but K98k style sling arrangement & cupped plate, no TD disc. Pretty similar to the sportered one shown above. I’ve found a couple on ebay over the years in the $150-$200 range, NOS replacement stocks, no “7.62” carved into them or finish applied.
