Hi folks,
I just came across a book published in 2024 in German about the founders of Heckler & Koch :

The title can be translated as "Weapons engineers in the shadows". It is written by 3 authors.
Here is a translation of the book description:
"Company histories of Mauser-Werke AG and HASAG from the beginnings to 1945
Heckler & Koch GmbH was founded in 1949 by the engineers Edmund Heckler, Theodor Koch and Alex Seidel in Oberndorf am Neckar. The founders had started their careers at Mauser-Werke AG, a traditional arms manufacturer. While Heckler moved to HASAG in Leipzig in 1934, Koch and Seidel remained employed by Mauser in Oberndorf.
This study is dedicated to the roles of the three engineers in the arms industry and for the first time examines the historical context and the responsibility they bore in their companies for the production of ammunition and weapons. In this context, the corporate histories of Mauser Werke AG and HASAG are also examined in depth. The third focus of the book is on how Heckler & Koch GmbH developed within a decade into the producer of the Bundeswehr's first assault rifle and whether this was connected to its activities under National Socialism."
The table of contents is accessible, the first and second chapters look particularly interesting as they are both a biography of the 3 engineers and (for chapter 1) a history of Mauser.
The lady (Stefanie van de Kerkhof) who wrote the first chapter about Koch, Seidel and Mauser is a historian specialized in the history of companies.
I may buy the book as I like HK weapons, it may also be of interest for you
