Is my bolt head stamp # supposed match the rest of my rifle for numbers matching?

IMG_1056.jpeg

1. No problems with dry firing and working the action when a cartridge is not present
2. unable to close the bolt with snap cap or live round
3. extractor does not work when I go to clear malf mentioned in #2 above
4. If i remove bolt, manually insert cartridge on bolt face, reinsert bolt, #2 occurs but extractor ejects cartridge.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, They would have originally been numbered to the rifle, but they are a frequently missing or m/m part.

It could be a bunch of different things; dirty chamber, bolt head/extractor issue, etc...

I'd start by really thoroughly cleaning the chamber. I've had a few rifles over the years with this problem.

If it's something else, I'm sure someone in here will help.

There is different number on bolt head, so probably mixed in time even parts of bolt?. Cleaning and oiling could help.

If I was going to keep it I would of done that. I rather keep it in the received condition as it was returned to the auctioneer, Lock Stock & Barrel. Great customer service by the way.

It worked out as I used the refund towards a SL7 i won from the same auction house.

Oooh, nice pick up. I've got an SL7 and it's one of my favorite range guns.

I love this forum. I had never heard of a SL7 before. Just looked it up. Very interesting weapon.

I justified it because it was made in Oberndorf. Looks great sitting in a line with all the black powder MWO stuff, the Imperial MWO stuff, the Nazi MWO stuff, etc.

Probably won't dive too far down the HK rabbit hole because that way lies crippling debt, even compared to all this stuff we're into here.

I've been wanting a Mauser Model 66 for some time, just to add to the progression. The other rare prototype variants Mauser did are well above my paygrade.

I make some H&K stuff for a friend. I have never once been impressed. Stamped and welded components that fail, bad machining, bad heat treat. I just don't understand the allure. But goodness are the cult members rabid.

Another one I've been eyeballing is the Masuer m1996. It's a funky straight pull design where the handle moves backwards and forwards depending on if it's in battery.

I must agree about the H&K stuff. After yearning after a 91 for years, the opportunity came and I was disappointed. While novel, the delayed roller locking was by no means superior to other designs IMHO. The fluted chamber left you with filthy, beat up brass. It was very heavy, relative to other designs. Everyone has their favorites.

What glass and scope mount are you running?

I need mags for that rifle as well

I've got the OEM scope mount. I was lucky and snagged an auction for a rifle, mount, and the 10 round mag at the price the base rifle usually goes for. Scope is Nikon P-308.

Also lol I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who immediately set it next to a G/K43 for a photo.
