237 1939 Ost Disk Marked

nice BLM ! these were procured in batches so no surprise there are more than one. But , the fact more than one survived and showed up here is pretty amazing !
 
I really like the quality of BLM made rifles and this one is a perfect showcase of that quality. Congrats on a killer 1939 BLM, I don't think you can find a better one if you tried!
 
Very nice riffle!
I have a 237 1938 with the Ost marking, It became a Norwegian F1. Surprisingly, it looks like it may have kept all of its matching components, less the barrel of course.
 
Unfortunally the disc was refinished? or minimal laquered and removed the surface layer?, anyway this range was observed with and wout the k suffix.

I agree, it's a beautiful K98k.

All Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik K98k with Kriegsmarine service which I know have Heer acceptance.

That would be unusual, and I would be suspicious if a "k" is stamped on the disc. The K98k's of the Nordsee fleet have the Kriegsmarine property number on the disc and the "k" marking below it at the 6 o'clock position.

I have never seen a K98k of the Ostsee fleet with this marking in this range, I have never seen one in general.

The marking with the letter "k" was discontinued in 1940.

The bayonets are a different story. The "k" marking can be found on Nordsee and Ostsee bayonets.
 
Thanks for info about the k suffix on rifles, normally it should be on bayonets present even on Ostsee stamped ones.

Mauser Berlin 243 code Kriegsmarine

Again this shows what I was trying to explain. Order filled they purchased from Army stocks or apparently right from the factories. BLM was up in the North I think near major Ports near Hamburg or Kiel ? Makes sense anyways.

Most KM contracts are seen By Mauser Berlin and Steyr. I have seen a diverted JPS early and then the G date Mauser procurement which I assume coincides with the G date lugers.
