DK StG44 rear sight welds concern

Hello all,

Recently became the proud owner of a DK StG44!

Just wanted to ask other DK StG owners here for opinions on welds on the rear sight on my rifle. I 100% understand that the wartime StG series of rifles were not as nicely finished as say a pre war k98 and such, and consequently had their fair share of welds.

My only concern is that there’s this one weld on the rear sight that looks like it’s exposed? I’m no welding expert but that’s how I can best describe it (please see the pictures to see what I mean). If any other DK owners (or real StG owners for that matter) can chime in and say if that’s normal or something I should ask Tor to take a look at, that would be appreciated!

Ok I appreciate the response Tor thanks! I’ll shoot you an email in a few weeks when I’m ready to send it back. Also just curious, would the bluing of the affected area still match the bluing of the rest of the rear sight when it’s welded back up?
