Luger K Date Holster 1934

Although I've been collecting Lugers since 1990 I'm not what you call a "holster" Guy. For me I've always been more interested in the pistol's then the holster. So when this one was offered to me I thought it was very interesting so I bought it.

It's an Auwaerter & Bubeck A.G. Stuttgart WaA101 1934 with an ink stamp that reads SS-VT REICH

I believe it's quite rare but really no nothing about it. Was this issued to the Waffen SS?

I'd appreciate getting some information about it if anyone can help and also what the current value would be. It's in really incredible condition which was why I bought it.

I'm like you Tom...I'm really not a holster accumulator. But that is a really nice one, and I'm interested in other opinions on it. Did you post it up at Still's luger forum?

Yes, so far it's an original rare holster but the opinion on the ink stamp is thumbs down. I've reached out to Brad Simpson and Tom Whiteman for their opinions.

Ah, I saw that. Still a very rare holster. Not sure what one was saying about the wear looking odd. I think the top of the holster is generally going to get a bit more wear than the remainder of it. Looks good to me.

Wear looks normal to me and there is not much of it. It is nicely stamped on the back with the maker and yes it's an extremely hard to find holster.
Now I just need to figure out a fair price to sell it for. I don't have a "K" date collection so I would like to see it go to someone who does.

Hi there, I'm Dave, a collector & F/A dealer in Australia who has acquired a beautiful K date P.08 & I'm hoping you'll be prepared to sell this beautiful holster to me? Of course I'll pay appropriate shipping cost & from a legal perspective, this is all good at my end. I can be contacted via david@scgunshop.com.au if you'd be so kind as to help me complete this rig😃

I have the same holster from 1934 and 1935 without that stamp inside. The only other markings I have seen on these holsters are a weapons number for police use. I don’t think the cleaning rod is correct from what I see in the picture but overall a nice holster in good condition.I would think you could get $400-$600 for that holster to someone who needs that year. I paid around $600 for my 1934 holster with original cleaning rod several months ago. Unfortunately K dates are expensive and harder to find so the demand for an 1934 holster isn’t as great as other year holsters.

I myself am trying to collect at least a 1 matching magazine Luger rig from 1934-1942. I need 1934,38,39, and 42 currently.

there are certainly more 34 dated holsters than K date lugers. I have seen far more 34 dated holsters than 1935. 35 seems to be the hardest year to find. 34 holsters were no doubt mated to G date lugers.

I think there are a few floating around on the open market..

I'll start by saying I know nothing about SS items, so take this with a grain of salt. In theory, SS-VT could represent SS-Verfügungstruppe, which ultimately became the 2nd SS Panzer Division upon its expansion in 1940. The problem I have with the marking is the SS-VT only operated under that flagging until 1940. At this point, SS units had almost no access to newly manufactured equipment produced for the Wehrmacht and it's unlikely that they would have received this holster during the years Das Reich's regiments were flagged as the SS-VT. If I'm not mistaken, SS formations wouldn't get access to the army's supply system until 1942. Like I mentioned, I don't know SS items and personally tend to assume they're fake until smarter people tell me they're good. Hopefully @RyanE or @Bigdibbs88 can offer some additional commentary on this holster and set me straight.

Ink stamp is almost certainly spurious. There never was any "SS-VT Reich", so far as I know. The regiments were Deutschland, Germania, and Der Führer. In 1940, the SS-Verfügungs-Division was renamed SS-Division "Reich".

I have never seen that marking. Impossible to say anything from the photo but I agree, very unlikely to be authentic
