Been picking up numerous odds & ends at both yard sales and the swapper recently, but nothing special. So was perusing "The 'BAY" yesterday. It was the final day I could "use or loose" a $15.00 discount coupon they bestowed upon me (guess it was for a early Bell MC helmet I sold for a exceptional piece of change!). Lo and behold, the pictured
G Appel (cnx) Rg34 popped up as a BIN, so my search was over. I suspect this example is from approximately mid-1944. The entire kit also has the look of being a originally intact one as it came from the factory (outside the "mystery bundle" seen in the last photo). Note the components, condition, etc. Tin has no protective lacquer finish applied to the interior. Hard to tell from the seller's pics the exact paint finish of the behalter, but maybe a bluish-green. It also appears the lid is not WaA20 accepted (but won't know until I see the bottom lid).
Amended 8/12: There is a partial E|WaA20 on right side of top lid. Found the extra bore brush appears to fit a .22. The bristles are definitely a smaller diameter than the other bore brush. Am sure one of my Klein Kaliber kits has been wanting for this, so will have to come up w/a hook for it as well. Lastly, the "mystery" bundle was nothing more than a old scrap of somewhat dense fabric material trussed up in cordage. Replaced it with a single bundle of gewehrwatte "worms" for the final touch...
