    bnz 43 questions

Yeah it's a Russian capture. The Russians made no effort to reassemble captured rifles with the original matching parts. So they forced matched parts to the serial number on the receiver.

Looks like a standard BNZ 43 that's Russian captured. Do you have any more photos?

    Sporterized byf 1944

Try getting in contact with Tommy, user us1945. He had a couple of cupped buttplate byf stocks for sale. He seems to be the only one with nice Norwegian capture stocks left since Mario shut down his site. I had a hell of a hard time finding a a stock for a sporterized J block bnz41 I picked up...

    BNZ collection

Hi guys, figured it was about time I started posting some photos of the K98's in my collection. First up is a BNZ 41 J block rifle. This rifle is a vet bring back which was sadly sporterized. The rifle was placed in a sporterized stock with a custom triggerguard. Sadly the original matching...

    Help please

Lucky the cops did not show up. My neighbor here in Mercer county was paid a visit for doing the same thing about a year ago, even though he was on his driveway.

    DOU 44 Bolt question

Thanks for putting my mind at ease guys. I originally planned on collecting only BNZ rifles, but after giving it some thought, I decided to branch out and include K98's from other manufactures in my collection. I saw a different dou44 rifle at a gun show a couple of weeks back that looked...

    DOU 44 Bolt question

Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying a matching dou 44 rifle and the WaA proof mark under the bolt handle has me a little concerned. It appears to be a badly stamped e/63 (I know dot supplied bolts to dou for production). My question is does this look legit? Or is it a different proof code or a total...

    Bolt identification question

Thanks, The rifle as best I can tell was reassembled in Yugoslavia post WW2 using a variety of manufactures parts, has e/655, e/37, e/63, e/214 and e/135 proofed parts. Top of the receiver was scrubbed and replaced with Yugo crest, while all other parts (except barrel) retain their original...

    Bolt identification question

Hello, I am looking for additional information on the bolt that came with a Yugo capture K98 that I acquired a while back. The bolt has a hollowed out bolt knob, which I have only ever seen on G33/40 carbines. My question is were these types of bolts only used on the G33/40 carbines or did...

    How much for a Mauser?

As far as selecting a rifle from this era, each rifle has its own merits. In terms of price a K98 will definitely cost you the most for all matching numbers. I own each of the rifles you mentioned and can honestly say they are all very accurate, but I do however prefer the peep sight arrangement...

first time mauser buyer. need help

I would pay around $350 for it with an incorrect stock and mismatched bolt. When it comes to collecting a matching stock is typically half the value of a rifle.

first time mauser buyer. need help

Yes you can find some rifles that are bolt mismatched in that price range.

I agree with mattakinbimwalker, You can definitely get a much nicer rifle that has not been totally messed with like this one. If your just looking at this as a shooter and not a collectors item I would still ask for better photos, in order to determine a true value for this rifle. I would also...
