They found on others as well. On page 46 of the kriegsmodell book is an example of the same round welds on a qnw floorplate seen on a bcd4 rifle. A more specific question may be has these round welds been seen on another subcontractor floorplate other than qnw?

Me too. My understanding was the plum color occur more often with spring steel such as extractors and bolt stop springs. But shows up on bolt bodies and barrels too. Also seems more common with the later czech guns.

I took these two side by side as a comparison. The '43 is one of the earlier white glue for dou and the '44 is one of the earlier skm for dou which started during 'ee'.

Any thoughts on these? I see this on many of my stamped floorplates. The two on the right are blued. I can see how holding wear causes the loss of bluing on one end, but seems the change is too well demarcated to be caused by a hand. Is is some method of storage where something is in contact...
