    Gewehr 98 DWM 1901 8253 Kaiserliche Marine

Got this one from Chris who handed it off to me before SoS. It’s been documented here before, but a Gew doesn’t really feel like mine until I I make my own post, haha. Aside from some light cleaning and sanding it’s a nice original example. Has the early features like unproofed receiver, 200m...

Very nice mostly matching 1915 Erfurt Kar98a

Nice pick up and thanks for posting. This is a great Kar. I had it in the reference from when Marc owned it, but i'll add your photos also.

Seitengewehr 98/05 alte Art Coppel O11 marked B.2.A.F.2.121.

Thanks, Jack! Thanks, Sam! Thank you, Jory! It was great to see you and catch up. Glad it all worked out so well, good buddy! Looking forward to seeing photos of your grouping. I'll check again. The flashguard is covering up an acceptance, but i don't have the right tool to remove the screws...

Thanks, Chris! Glad you got to see it in person! You're right, Andy, it is a K. Long day yesterday, got my letters mixed up again. Thanks for the hep on the unit mark.

Seitengewehr 98/05 alte Art Coppel O11 marked B.2.A.F.2.121.

The scabbard. And the push button release: the nut has a c/S acceptance while the release part has an 18.

Seitengewehr 98/05 alte Art Coppel O11 marked B.2.A.F.2.121.

My Show of Shows find. Early pattern Bavarian 98/05 plainblade marked to foot artillery. It was given a flash guard at one point, and the high ears were not ground down. The scabbard is obviously not the one it entered service with, but is Bavarian so there’s a decent chance it came to the...

Seitengewehr 14 Bayerische Griechischer Messer marked B.11.R.II.R.E.1.408.

Recent pick up. I’ve been quite lucky with Griechischer Messer and was able to add a regimentally marked example. It’s Bavarian infantry marked, while the other two that I have seen were both Bavarian Jäger. Acceptance wise it’s pretty typical, c/K and c/M.

    Radfahrer Gewehr 98 1914 Spandau

Thanks for posting the photos on the forum. It is an honor to be able to add it to the reference.

    Waffenwerke Oberspree Kornbusch 1915

You should start a thread for your 1917 WOK and post some photos. If only the bolt is marked then there’s a fair chance it didn’t go to the Turks. Kornbusch Co didn’t survive the war, changed to Waffenwerke Oberspree.

    Waffenwerke Oberspree Kornbusch 1915

Excellent score, Sam! Nice to have good documentation of another one that is so original: I added it to the reference. I love the dark streaks in the wood, such a gorgeous stock.

    Gewehr 98, 1917 Spandau - Hannover "H"

Pretty badly sanded, unfortunately, but still valuable from a research perspective if you can get photos with the serial number.

    1914 Spandau Gew98

Love the condition on this one, looks like it just came back from the war and has never been messed with. I added it to the reference.

    Spandau 1916

Good replacement Spandau, Sam. The double numbered depot bolt is fascinating. It's in the reference!

Hell of a score, Chris! Glad to be able to add this to the reference.

    Gewehr 98 DWM 1917 1062l

It’s not been varnished, it has that factory heavy coating the Germans used on beech. Only detraction is a small crack behind the receiver common to beech stocks, and two small holes from tacks that likely held a label at some point. Otherwise it’s untouched, it’s quite a nice one.
