    Gewehr 98 Help Identifying

Looks like a standard Gew 98 to me just with a bent bolt. I don't see any post war modifications or changes. Somebody probably bent the bolt sometime throughout the rifle's history. The only Gew 98's with bent bolt would be the Schutztruppegewehr, Sniper rifles and the Radfahrer. Post war you...

    1911 Danzig Kar98a

Great score Chris. Even with the repaired dufflecut and the handguard unrepaired. It looks to be in great condition for its ago and being a pre-WWI Kar98a. Another great example for the collection.

    Known surviving Kav.Kar.98, Art.Kar.98 and Kar.98 1st variant and 2nd model.

I made this list mostly for fun and because I keep track of the ones used by Schutztruppe. I took the list that is in Ball, R. (2011). Mauser Military Rifles of the World (5th ed.). I have added to that list. Of ones I have found over the years. I know there's probably more. If you have one and...

    1877 Spandau M71 IG w/ WWI Service

Chris this is probably my favorite M1871 of yours. I am happy you got it. That stock looks great for its age. Like I said before. I actually didn't even notice the steel triggerguard on the GB photos.

kS98 bayonet with composition grips from the South West African Schutztruppe. It has been re-gripped with composition grips made of unvulcanised rubber first introduced in 1914.

Nice Original 1903 Spandau Gew 98

Nice score Chris. I didn't pay attention to this rifle's auction very much. So I didn't realize this rifle's rear sight base went down to 200m and has a rear sight leaf at 400m. Great looking rifle over all.

Firearms of Imperial German overseas forces.

I've kind of been waiting a while to post this. I wanted to wait until the auction was over with. I do know Storz talks about these rifles in his Rifle & Carbine 98 Firearms of the German Army from 1898 to 1918 book. It is also mentioned and feature in "The arming of the protection troops in...

    Documented bayonets of overseas forces.

Hey all, this is still a work in progress. So bear with me. I got this idea from Paul. When he posted some documented bayonets in my colonial thread. I figured why not help out? I really do enjoy researching and studying the Imperial German overseas forces so much. A friend of mine allow me to...

Firearms of Imperial German overseas forces.

I was quite happy to add it to my catalogue of documented rifles. That's a good start on catalogue in bayonets. I'll add the bayonets to my list. So I can start adding to it myself.
