Your right. This was a late 44 SS contract originally. Barrel code verifies that. The 43 receiver confused me. Mine is the variation with the FP on the barrel and receiver with serial on the receiver. I swear you could see the outline of a FP outline though… but I’m wrong.

Just curious, is your DDR rework a Czech produced rifle? Import marked? Small serial on left side of its stock, under the siderail?
