    German WW2 Boots

Were they riding boots (I've read that officers were allowed to provide their own riding boots if they chose to do so) or the hobnailed jackboots?

    German WW2 Boots

Researching it for a friend, he wants to know if these were "real" or reproductions. https://www.ebay.com/itm/German-WWII-Boots-Size-42-43-9-10-/264070402448?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=93Ak0Qvbm2UaZzQzK3Jd8QRs%252FNA%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc

    German WW2 Boots

Howdy! It's my understanding that sourcing your own riding boots was allowed for officers, and I've noticed that this type of boot pull tab seems to be common in older/worn out boots sold from European countries on ebay as "German officer boots". Does anyone know if boots with these...

    G98/40 Bolt/Bolt Head

Oh, the 43m is complete. It's the parts rifle that's missing only the bolt head. Does the headspace change with firing/would it be inadvisable to use the same bolt in both guns in the interim before I can find another bolt head for the incomplete one if it headspaces properly in both in the...

    G98/40 Bolt/Bolt Head

Howdy! Does anyone know of a place that makes reproduction bolt heads/extractors/etc... for the G98/40? Ian mentions that he thinks they exist in this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdnNYqjpQvs I recently picked up an unmolested 43M and a sporterized G98/40 came for free as "parts"...

BMJ Dialytan 4x at Gun Store

But can't I just put a repro high turret mount (I think they have to be soldered or drilled in?) from ebay onto a prezeduce 44 yugo capture or something and have an interesting/semi-realistic looking sniper? Again, I literally have no clue how optics work aside from having used POSPs on AKs and...

BMJ Dialytan 4x at Gun Store

Is it possible to mount the high turret mounts to a normal receiver, or am I better off buying a leupold mount set?

BMJ Dialytan 4x at Gun Store

So this one has a sunshade? Again, I'm not very big on optics and don't really know much terminology.

Does anyone know what the reticle should look like?

BMJ Dialytan 4x at Gun Store

I'm personally just looking to put an old-timey looking scope onto an old de-sporterized sporterized K98k that has a mount drilled already.

BMJ Dialytan 4x at Gun Store

Howdy! I found this scope in the back of a gun store; neither I nor the owner know what it is worth but from ebay pricing he's asking $450. Is this reasonable? I can't find much on the history myself, how to tell fakes apart by markings, and generally have no clue about optics in general. I've...

Factory and Year on Scrubbed k98k

There is nothing on the right side but the restamped yugo serial.

Factory and Year on Scrubbed k98k

Awesome! Is there any reason for imperial era parts to exist on the trigger and stock of a modern k98k with a cupped buttplate made by Gustloff, or is it likely that the stock itself is a replacement? It's numbered to the restamped receiver so its been with it since at least the 1940s, and from...

Factory and Year on Scrubbed k98k

Was Gustloff the only factory that subcontracted sight bases out to Nahmatag? I see that Gustloff usually subcontracted out a lot of parts. Do you know if the 43 stamped on the bottom of the receiver could be a production year? Nothing like that is present on the receiver bottom of any of my...

Factory and Year on Scrubbed k98k

Howdy! I have a Yugo Preduzece 44 former k98k I'd like to figure out a little bit of the backstory on. I've never seen a letter code in the place of a waffenamt on the sight base, but I know that wa18 was used by three different factories. It has a few stamps, stylized letters and crowns, that...

Odd Stamps on a Friends new DOU 44

Does anyone have any information/knowledge on east german issue/volskpolezei k98s? My google-fu isn't strong and I can only find a few sparse references on different forums to people referring to references I can't find.

    Front sight hood

They were originally produced without them 1935-1939, but switched to including them in 1940. Russian Capture K98s had theirs removed, but they can be re-added relatively easily.

Odd Stamps on a Friends new DOU 44

I just googled it, and the Mdi 1001 stamp and crown N are indeed East German. Thank you! That still leaves a few questions, but that explains two of the major barrel stamps. Edit: It appears that the sunburst in the center may be a Volks Polizei stamp?
