    Karabiner Modell 71 Spandau 1879 2671

Starting in 1880 the prussian cuirassier regiments were already issued a number of carbines per squadron for drill and training purposes. As you already stated in 1888 the cuirasses were taken out of fieldservice and now all ranks swaped their revolvers with carbines. With kind regards Vincent

    Interesting unit markings

Bayonet S98/05 old Pattern ERFURT, W11 W. K. 2498. Werft Kiel, Nr. 2498 - Navy Dockyard Kiel, no. 2498. Navy bayonets witch matching numbers are nearly impossible to find. I dont know why exactly but they must have been mixing bayonets and scabbards arround a lot during WW1.

Dreyse Defensions Zündnadelbüchse U/M - muzzleloading Jaeger converted to dreyse

Hello guys, here is the last of my dreyse Jager rifles, the "Defensions-Zündnadelbüchse U/M". This was the only dreyse rifle that was built by reworking an old prussian muzzleloading weapon, the Jägerbüchse 1835/47. Barrel length: 66 cm Overall length: 112 cm Produced by "Soemmerda F.v.D."...

M65 Spangenberg & Sauer Saxon Breechloader Carbine

Chris, thats a very neat and rare carbine. Great find! I love the fact that they included a percussion cap protector. Saxon weaponry is not my field of knowledge, do you know if these carbines were designed as a breechloader from the beginning or are they reworked muzzle loaders? Even though...

    Imperial Navy Marked Kar 98as

The only thing i can add here is that there are some kS98 bayonets known with O.M.D. markings. One of them even feature an additional M.G.A. (could be "Machine Gun Abteilung") marking as well. From 1908 onwards machine gun crews tend to have been equipped with the kS98 and the K98. So its very...

    Imperial Navy Marked Kar 98as

Very interesting topic! The only pre-war official use of K98 within the imperial navy i know of are the machinegun crews of the III. Seebataillon. They were also the only navy guys equipped with the short bayonet 98. The soldiers from the III. Seebataillon always seem to have done things a bit...

    Dreyse Jägerbüchse M/65

Hello guys, here is the next of my dreyse Jager rifles, the Jägerbüchse M/65. Barrel length: 76 cm Overall length: 123 cm Produced by "Soemmerda F.D." in 1868. All matching serial number 9638 and updated to the beck conversion. 1868 issued to the 2nd Jäger-Bataillon. She is in OK condition...

    Dreyse Jägerbüchse M/54

Would you mind sharing the unit marking here? The individual weapon number of navy markings are often repeated on the top of the receiver. Thats why i would guess that your rifle is navy as well. Maybe the "1" is the rest of an "M" from the "K M" navy marking?

    Dreyse Jägerbüchse M/54

Thank you for your kind comment. Glad you enjoyed it. I remeber seeing one of those M/54 for auction in the US a few years ago. It was in bad shape and the ram rod was missing. Dont know for how much it was sold. Thanks, Chris! I was looking for over 6 years to find this rifle. They are...
