SS Kar98a conversion in bad shape

Thanks for the replies. I decided to buy it for a reasonable price due to the overall bad condition. I wonder if I ever get hands on a Kar98a SS conversion in perfect shape.

SS Kar98a conversion in bad shape

Hello everyone, I have the chance to purchase a possible legit (?) SS Kar98a rework. The markings seem to be ok compared to Vol.1, only the stamps on the buttplate are odd. Here are some photos I have.

Different types of XI depot rifles

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding depot rifles. Specificially I want to know, why there are (at least) two different types of XI depot rifles. Is it because of the fact, that XI could be Hannover or Magdeburg? The first rifle I have is simular to this one (of course with XI stamp, SN...

Does anybody know something about this strange buttplate or has seen it before? The number matches the bolt and receiver.

    Mauser Oberndorf 1917 G98m

Yes, the internal number matches the receiver. The stock was put together from two different ones, so perhaps they simply were not renumbered. The rifle has the hole in the trigger assembly as well as the hock at the front, so it is no Radfahrer as far as I know. Nevertheless the buttstock has...

    Mauser Oberndorf 1917 G98m

Thank you for your answers. The bolt is a 98k one indeed. WaA 280. I had some time to take the rifle apart in the meantime. The front part of the stock is matching with the receiver, while the buttstock is not (7030).:googlie I looks like that the number was stamped very cleary. Is it possibly...

    Mauser Oberndorf 1917 G98m

Is the bolt of this rifle a 98k bolt? The stock (although repaired and mismatching) has the 98k-sling-hole. I wonder, if this is a afterwar mix.

    Legit 41/1?

Great, thank you, too. Is anything known about the production numbers of the different manufacturers? Esp. Feinmechanik G.m.b.H., Kassel? I will have a look under the rainshield as soon as possible.

    Spandau 1910 Kar.98

Yes, it is the same stamp. So it id indeed an Erfurt made rifle. The only secret now is why are there three identical acceptance stamps on the receiver. ;-)

    Legit 41/1?

That are great news! Thanks alot. Due to the fact that the barrel seems to be a postwar replacement (no eagle, but CB in a circle), the base is not original.

    Spandau 1910 Kar.98

It is very difficult to catch it. Especially because it is already dark here. I would say, that it is Crown/S.

What do you mean with wrist acceptance? Where can I find it?
