    CE43 finished by Mauser-Oberndorf?

I got an Iraqi used CE43 in the other day, and right off I noted that the firing proofs on the left side of the receiver were the big version, not the small ones used by JP Sauer. Upon closer inspection, the final acceptance proof is E/135 and the barrel is an unnumbered byf barrel. The WaA on...

    "All matching" Luftwaffe 243.....

Am I the only one that noticed the mis-matched hand-guard on this beauty: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=218578557 ? Even if it were all matching, any one of us probably would not have gotten more than 1K for it in this crappy condition.

    "Matching" byf44

Y'all see this one? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=202792533 ALL matching byf44 with matching early JP Sauer stock and early "H" band..... :censored: I think it's ok to post this, cuz I sure consider it a turd.

    Authentic SS re-work?

Guys, what is the consensus on this? It was in the process of being sporterized, and the sights got removed. However, it did NOT get drilled, so if it is real I would think it would be a worthy restoration project. Pretty much all the finish is gone from the metal.

    Matching 147 1939

Here is a nice example of an early JP Sauer 98K rifle. I bought it locally at the Jackson show (Craig, it looks like ya didn't get EVERYTHING up here). I don't want to upload all 70+ pictures I have of this, but if there are any parts that y'all want to see, let me know.

    dou44 "SS" rifle

Never seen one before with the Totenkopf on the top of the receiver.... :barf: Unless I'm way off base with this one, someone paid $930 for a humped RC.

    Preserving a helmet liner

Guys, is there any particular product that you use to treat your helmet liners to prevent hardening and cracking? My M40 helmet has a somewhat stiff liner, and I would like to make it more supple as I am really afraid of its condition degenerating. Thanks!

    Wtf

I was just going through some of my auctions, and I came across this one. I had to look at it again, as I couldn't believe my eyes.... A friggin RC sells for almost $900, when my really nice CE41 bolt mis-match doesn't even make $700! I just don't understand...

    Holy crap!

I think this is the most expensive non-sniper K98 that I have ever seen.... http://v2.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=168837963 Un-freaking real! Chasdev has probably turned a couple back-flips by now. I don't think I will ever be able to afford another matching K98 online....

Is pre-war 9MM really this rare?

I'm used to seeing the ridiculous prices that Japanese ammunition brings, but this is something I have never seen before with the German ammo!! Is it really that hard to find this early stuff? http://v2.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=167438444

    Luger holster with ship-home labels

Luger holster with ship-home labels UPDATED This is actually a bit of a sad story.... I purchased this Luger holster off of a walk-in at the local Jackson gun show... We got to talking about it, and I asked him where he got it. He told me that he had a Zero series Walther P38 that came in this...

    What is this guy smoking?

Ok, I know stamped bands aren't the easiest thing to come by, but this is ridiculous! http://v2.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=164428698 If a mod decides to remove it, that is ok, but this is just insane.... $549!!!???

    Authentic SS helmet?

http://v2.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=164013853 Someone grabbed it on the Buy It Now. Even if I were sure the helmet pictured was original, I don't think I would have taken the plunge on it. Zero feedback seller and an amazing Buy It Now price (for a real helmet) = probable scam...

    Ce41

Here is my newest acquisition. It is a bolt mis-match, but it is still a really neat rifle. It has a duffle-cut (unfortunately not hidden), and it seems to have gone to the armorer at least once. The barrel was replaced with an un-numbered "39 660" barrel, which is cool. There was sand all...

What is the world coming to?

http://www.auctionarms.com/Search/DisplayItem.cfm?ItemNum=9603076 Almost $1,700 for what appears to be a restored sporter (mis-matched stock set, matching action). This guy gets good prices on his stuff, but that is just insane (unless I am missing something). :suspicious:

    M40 helmet with ship-home box

My one and only German item that has its original ship-home box as well. The liner is a bit dry, and the chinstraps are either broken off (or were cut), but I like it. :)

    Got my book today!

 IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Best book I have ever had, many thanks to you guys for all the hard work you put into it! I can't wait for the next two volumes! I have only skimmed through it, but it has already answered pretty much every question I ever had on the late-war stuff! One of my...
