    ID Troddel ?

Can someone help ID this troddel for me. It is attached to a Imperial German Private Purchase Sawback bayonet. What's neat is that I assume the troddel is made of copper or bronze thread making it somewhat heavier than the normal cloth examples.

    Railroad 98k Bayonet

I can use some information on this bayonet as I lack knowledge about the 84/98 III bayonets. This bayonet too has not seen the light of day for quite some time. I know it is a Railway marked bayonet, however, what does the RBD KS 138 marking on the cross guard mean? The finish on the blade...

Question regarding 1944 asw riveted grips 98k bayonet ?

I ran across a very nice 1944 asw 98k bayonet this weekend with riveted grips. Is this late bayonet an uncommon variant? I'm not too well versed in German WW2 bayonets. I appreciate your input......

    Naval O.6997P

This is my only WW2 German bayonet. Somewhat out of character for an Imperial Collector. Not sure how long its been since it saw the light of day.

    Saxon 1871's ~ Sawback & Plain Blade, 108 Regt. +

An interesting match! Saxon 1871 bayonets issued to the same regiment, belonging to the same company with Waffen Nr. off by 71. SAWBACK ~ 108.R.11.135., GERB. SIMSON, A80. Plain Blade ~ 108.R.11.64., P.D. Luneschloss, A80.

    2 Additional MG Marked Bayonets ~ 71/84 and 98/05 . . . .

I came across 2 more Imperial bayonets with Machine Gun markings. One is a 98/05 nA SAWBACK, dated W15 and marked: 93.R.M.G., the other is a 71/84 aA Plain Blade, dual maker, dated W87 and marked: J.R.157.M.G.1. I feel the 98/05 is unusual, in that it is a wartime Unit marked bayonet with a...

    Prussian/Saxon 1898/02 marked to the 12th Pioneer Battalion . . .

As I was going through my photos, I realized I hadn't posted a fourth 98/02 along with the three on August 8th. This 98/02 is a Prussian / Saxon 1898/02 made by ERFURT, and dated W02. The cross guard is unit marked 12.P.1.30. (1st Royal Saxon Pioneer Battalion). Please refer to Carter's...

    1898/02's Bayonets ~ Saxon w/steel scabbard, and matching Bavarian & Prussian . . .

I thought I would post my 98/02 bayonets to include a true SAXON (2nd Royal Saxon Pioneer Battalion No. 22) with a rare all steel scabbard. It is interesting to note from Carter's, Vol. I., pg. 15 covering Saxony 98/02's; "there were only two Saxon Pioneer Battalions numbered in line with the...

    Imperial nA 84/98 Flieger Sawback.......

I've had this bayonet for some time and I don't believe I've yet shared this piece with the membership. If I have, please ignore this posting. This bayonet is made by GEBR. HELLER, MARIENTHAL with an undated blade which is common for this manufacturer from 1915-1917 (Carter, Vol. II, pg.181)...

    SAXON issue kS98

I thought I was finished adding pieces to the collection, but I couldn't pass this one up for 2 reasons. First, I especially like Imperial kS98's, and second it's a rare Saxon issue. Ian Jackson's book on the Kurzes Seitengewehr1898 Model states on page 152 ~ a Haenel, AR14 with wood grips...
