Ive seen K98's without the 2 capture screws on the trigger housing. Is this a trait of Russian captured rifles?

Hello everyone.. I recently picked up my second K98 and was wondering if the forum members can help me with the marking, proof marks and serial number. The rifle definitely has the “Been there” look. Also, do you think the sling is original? Thanks in advance.

I recently got this rifle and noticed a crack or scratch from the back of the action to the sling cut-out. My question is, is this common with laminated stocks and does it look like a crack? Thanks

I heard if the rifle has a hood over the front sight, it will take a 12.5 inch guide rod.. Is there any truth to this? I know how to measure otherwise.. Thanks
