For those that wanted to see cutout photos to tell if it had been sanded, seems to me the rear portion of the bolt cutout is much more rounded/worn than the front. I didn't want to play around with removing the sling again today but the sling cutout seems to have crisp lines to my eyes. Looking...

Yeah it's not a Steyr style hood, I have the rounded Steyr type on my 45 dated rifles. I just wasn't sure if there was anything different considering unnumbered band weirdness and all. Thanks for letting me know it should be numbered!
