I just re-uploaded a few more. Recheck the pix. The bands have minor surface rust. The bluing is kinda dull and the DWM Berlin markings aren't that deep. The wrist where the stampings are located is "gummy" looking but not sticky. Is this a normal appearance for a beech stock? Paid 450 for it...

More photos. The bolt pieces have me worried. The new sight has the same serial as the numbers on the rest of the rifle "6210". The extractor ring looks like it was double stamped 57 or 43 or 53 or 47. Odd. The area around the stock stamps next to the screws almost looks gummy or like someone...

I had fail to fire issues on both my K98K and 1918 Gewehr. I replaced the striker springs in both rifles at the spec'd pound ratings; ie no higher than what the manufacturer requires. I was amazed at the length differences between the old and new springs, and how much hard it was to break down...

It has a k98 style sight, 1936 Nazi rework, 1918 DMW Berlin. The K98K RC I also have does about 90 percent on the same batch of yugo, so I guess it's partially due to the spring in the 1918. No biggie.

Just finished first pass with gun oil/Hopps. First time I've used Hopps. Amazing how much crud it removed....AND I had to stop. That stuff is PUNGENT!!! Can smell all thru the house. Old dish rag I used to wipe the thing down is almost black. PAN
