It's Russian capture so mismatched. I'm concerned that I may need to get a different bolt now. I'll take the extractor collar off and see how it works. Ammunition chambers with no problems.

I took the extractor off of the bolt. Do I need to completely take it apart first and just use the bolt body? The chamber is clean as a whistle.

I just rented the go and no-go gauges to check my K98 and the go gauge isn't closing without extra pressure on the bolt. It isn't a lot of pressure but more than what I expected. The No-go gauge worked fine. Does anyone know what could be causing the extra pressure and if it is a problem?

Can anyone let me know how you can determine barrel quality? My RC looks like it has a few little discontinuous black marks along the rifling, but the majority of it looks good. Any criteria or pictures that could help? David
