    Default Battle Damaged 1937 S/42 1937

While not exactly a rework, it’s also something not seen all that often on Lugers. In as much that this pistol took either a shrapnel or more likely a bullet strike on the stock lug and lower right side of the frame. You can see the green oxidized copper from when this occurred. This is a first variation 1937, unique gun from the mix of salt and rust blue. 2800 through 3100 of the t block was the transition, you can see the rust blued barrel with strawed small parts and salt blued frame, toggle, receiver, and side plate. Uncleaned internals began the year prior in the n block.

I really like battle damaged guns, I actually have 2 Lugers with what appears to be high impact damage. As I get time I’ll take pics and post them, this one is very cool!

Yes VERY cool. Sure looks like a bullet strike to my eyes. Thanks for sharing an already nice piece with an interesting 'extra'

Certainly looks like a bullet strike to me. Glancing blow obviously. I wonder if it was in the holster at time of impact?

Nice pistol. The battle damage really adds to the character.

Thanks guys I appreciate it! The oxidized copper on the stock lug makes me think a bullet strike is the most probable scenario as well.
