2 Additional MG Marked Bayonets ~ 71/84 and 98/05 . . . .

I came across 2 more Imperial bayonets with Machine Gun markings. One is a 98/05 nA SAWBACK, dated W15 and marked: 93.R.M.G., the other is a 71/84 aA Plain Blade, dual maker, dated W87 and marked: J.R.157.M.G.1. I feel the 98/05 is unusual, in that it is a wartime Unit marked bayonet with a lengthier blade compared to the 71/84, KS98, and 84/98 variants often issued to MG units.

Ted,

Very nice! It is interesting seeing a SG98/05 MG marked. Glad you were able to snag this one and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for posting the photos, Ted! Both are great, but the 98/05 is especially neat to see, can not say i've seen another one MG marked.

Nice marking, on S1871/84 was there in previous other marking under, so this was added probably by adding MG units inside of Regiment level, with S98/05nAS is probably normal equipment of MG units in war period, not all inside of MG crew woried short blades.
