243 1939 with e/28 gas shield

Had this one out today and it looks like it has e/28 inpections on the gas shield. Rifle is mostly matching but does have an unserialed e/135(?) marked sight ramp and numbered but mismatched sight button. When I bought it I didn't look at the gas shield acceptances that closely but under a loupe they sure look like e/28, not e/26. Was under the impression that e/28 were armorer parts. Gas shield doesn't look like a replacement. Comments or thoughts?

Gas shield

I would bet that its E/26.
This being a 39 dated rifle, the use of subcontractors for key parts like the bolt shroud would not have
begun (at least at the Berlin plant).

Bolt appears to be factory correct and overall the rifle looks very crisp.
If you can throw up more images.

Bruce here are some more pics. It sure looks like e/28 to me on the gas shield/bolt shroud. Takedown discs are e/280 but that sort of makes sense (280 inspected MB in 1938 IIRC). Sorry about the crappy cellphone pics.

Current thread

Finally looked at the image on my computer and not the cell phone.
My best guess is that its a partial strike of E/280 which would fall in line
with the inspection assignments at Mauser Berlin earlier in 1938.

Same would apply for Mauser at the crossover of E/63 - E/655 and
from E/655-E/135.

The change in inspection teams resulted in groups of parts that were
inspected by the earlier WaA team being used in later production when
the new team had taken over.

Reference earlier example at Oberndorf that I noted.

Great rifle.
