42 fnj wooden grips

Just got a exc + 1942 fnj, P series, with wooden grips. I would have figured to find Bakelite in 1942 production. Normal?

Hello a picture would help probably, but i have reported both material in P range,so wood could be correct there, important is to see the screws that should be not dissasembled. b.r.Andy
