bcd4 with 3 hole receiver

I saw a bcd4 years ago and it had 3 holes in a triangle on the left side and was not a wide receiver and no flat on the left side. Is it possible this was a non-completed SSR? This was a complete and matching rifle. When the change was made to LSR, were existing SSR receivers then used to complete ordinary K98k?

There were never SSR built on bcd4 receivers. It sounds more in regard that someone once converted this rifle to a LSR rifle and maybe used a shim to accomodate a base, as it comes with reproduction mounts.

You might also be under the wrong impression that SSR receivers came with holes from factory. This is not correct. These were normal K98k rifles which had holes drilled to the receiver wall during sniper conversion.
