Hey all,
I have been looking through some 1937, 1938, 1939 year BSW references and am seeing a mixture of bayonet lugs either in the white or blued. I understand certain k98k manufactures left the lugs in the white prewar, but does anyone know if BSW specifically did this and/or what year they started bluing these? Perhaps they were always blued but wear over the years have left some examples looking as if they had no finish?

Small bSw K98 collection
In the three years 1937-1939 (one 1936 example has been seen), BSW only made roughly 80,000 rifles. Most other German manufacturers made more in one year. Here are a few, also (2) rare 1939/337's that were the new code half way through that year when BSW was taken over and changed to Gustloff Werke.

bsw 1938 late 'b' block
They don't come any nicer that this considering the code rarity. What is interesting is that this rifle has the later type 'squared profile' safety, and is cut for the longer 320mm cleaning rod. Been awhile since I posted any gun of consequence so here you go.

1938 bSw
My new bSw. This makes 7 bSw rifles now. I did my level best at photos. My hands have nerve damage and photo taking is a very difficult procedure. Every little part of this rifle matches but sadly the band spring is unmarked and that is incorrect for a bSw rifle. I paid heavy for it but I...

Finally Matching 1939 BSW Rust Removed
This K98 was shown here on the 26th September 2012 closet fresh. I will bring to the top the original Post with photos. I purchased this from the Vets daughter in Maryland and received her fathers details (seems this was a Vet bring back from Italy as he also brought back Italian money). I lubed...
