Circle V7 rune on large fone BNZ ss contract K98s

I don’t really research or follow contract or rune rifles but I believe the current thought is that there is no connection with this marking. Regular army Steyrs have it too, my last bnz45 did for instance. Maybe there is more current research or something in the new books, but I don’t have them to check.

Sure. This was just discussed in December when someone posted another Steyr contract piece. That just means the receiver came from the camp at Gusen where they'd moved some of the machinery. Once they got production going they became pretty common.

When you're able perhaps you'll post more photos? Many people like seeing what stamps are there and barrel codes are nice too. Welcome.

As far as I can tell, it's just an inspection marking found on receivers manufactured at Gusen for Steyr. It seems the startup at Gusen was plagued with issues (go figure) and these inspections are for various aspects being checked. They show up on many bnz43/bnz44 marked (Gusen made).
