Classic Replacement Stocks

If they're from the batch as SOG you should expect for all metal to be Yugo.

Yeah, they look Yugo refurb to me, and they were WORSE than the Russian refurb process.

That's what turned me off. 'They' say "original un-issued / un-installed stocks", but of course in the reviews you get the truth. Why not just call them what they are??? Oh yeah, I forgot who's selling them. :moon:

I've bought three from SOG (2 laminate and 1 hardwood) and they were fine for their purpose of fixing sporterized shooters. As long as you aren't expecting new German stocks with clear stamps they are OK.

That I can agree with. But I don't think these are even an upgrade for an RC. In any case certainly not 'unissued/uninstalled'.

Took a chance and ordered two. They have already sold out of the flat butt plates. When did these go on sale ? So am I in for a real surprise when they get delivered?

I will be posting some nice Norway stocks in a week or two, some with matching metal, some not. They are a hell of a lot better than these. Will be a bit more money but for good reason. Early Sauer G date stock, nice matching "M" marked Kriegsmarine with Nordsee marks 280 stock... all kinds. Also will have a super nice, original G 33/40 stock with metal along with a complete bolt for one too. keep watching the trader.

Got shafted by Classic ! Yes, they are Yugo, and yes, it is beat to hell with a cross bolt in the wrist tang. Why don't they just listed them as Yugo's, and state they are not in excellent condition ?

As another member said fairly recently "if it's from Classic prepare to be disappointed". Sorry to hear that, but not so surprised either.

But then who would buy them??? He thrives on hype, hyperbole and overly rosy assessments of wares.

::sigh:: that's terrible to hear. I was beginning to feel bad that I missed the deal as there was a hardwood option and factoring in it comes with metal + HG it seemed like a decent buy. Guess not. They do sell on eBay though so that would be my next move if I was in your shoes.

The batches of K98 stcks that arrived were recently brought into the country from Lever Arms out of Vancouver BC. They have had these stocks for years, along with a bunch of RC stocks. Most of the RC stocks were gone last time I tried to buy a stock from Lever a little over a year ago (IIRC).

Thet found out most of the stocks were Yugo modified for M48 shorter barrels than the full length K98 barrel. I think I was one of the first to return a stock that was too short, fortunately I had bought it in person at their store in Vancouver. I was trying to get a decent military stock for a sported DOT 43.

IIrc they sold off all the stocks to either Numrich or Century, and thats how they ended up down here.

I can't believe the dishonestly that classic uses to sell items to unsuspecting people. I really don't know how they sleep at night doing that to people!
