Codes to k98 butt plates

Fairly new to the forum and I have done a search on this but have found no answers. I have 2 k98s that dad has brought back from the war. He has done a little tinkering with them but not bad. My question is are these the right butt plates for these rifles? The first one is a BYF44. The second one is a BCD43.

Im not sure on the bcd, but I have seen byf44 with gqm buttplaes, Id say its correct. What did he tinker with?

I've posted the rifles before on the forum. I believe soon after he returned from the war he repaired the duffle cuts and did some sanding on the stocks. I know its bad ,but I didn't have a choice in the matter. With that being said they will still be a fond memory of my father. I remember as a small kid going to shoot them with him. Man to kid it was like firing a cannon.
