Cracked Walnut Stock

I have an opportunity to purchase a S/243 1937 K98. It’s a beautiful all marching Rifle except the bolt. He wants 1500 for it which is would be worth it but the original walnut stock has a crack in it. Is it still worth the 1500??

If it was matching it would be worth it. As a bolt m/m not worth it unless the price is significantly reduced.

Could you give me and Idea of what you think the value would be estimated of course with the cracked stock and mismatched bolt? Thanks!

Well, it depends on the overall condition, but usually, stock issues really knock the price down... at least in the knowledgeable Mauser collecting community. It has been said before that sanding the stock or cleaning it with steel wool cuts the value of the gun in half.

We will need more pictures to give you a more accurate estimate.
