I think the proofs are East German. After the war, the DDR reverted to the the old crown commercial proofs. I think the eagle and the C/U indicates the rebuild was done in Suhl. Not 100% on that...

A lot of the Iraqi guns apparently came out of the DDR.

In addition to the other things stated, it was rebarreled by the DDR with a postwar replacement barrel.

That is an incredible price someone paid for that. Some of the things on ebay have been going for insane amounts lately. Like that armourer's spare stock. I bid on it but wasn't going to pay over 900 for it like someone did.

i paid around $350 for for both matching east german reworks i have with iraqi markings. one with similar markings to this one, and the other with russian x, east german barrel, iraqi jeem, and ddr sunburst on the receiver. i was say $100 would be in line for just the barreled receiver
