Danzig Gew 98 Suffix Font question

Does anyone have any idea when Danzig dropped the Latin letter suffix and went to strictly to script suffixes? I was under the impression it was a prewar thing but I purchased a 1915 Danzig Gew 98 in the W block that retains the Latin suffix font. Next week or the week after I will post the rifle in detai.

Danzig was more pragmatic than most of the rest, though they did follow Fraktur consistently, but seemingly in suffixes they tend to be easier interpret, x & z following a stylish Latin version, not the Fraktur Z which looks like a "3".

As for 1915 Danzig, they did use the Latin "w" character, though in 1917 they used the Fraktur character (which sort of looks like a upper case "N"). I haven't a 1916 in w-block to know that suffix type. They didn't get past the e-block in 1918. (L-block for the 98a)
