DCB marked G43

Is there such a thing as a dcb g43? Did they stamp the b and d in the wrong places? I've only been able to find info on BCD, DUV/QVE, and AC.

It was $5k! That seems high to me, but it was a nice rifle. Prices have definitely stayed high even post covid.
Welp, it's a Gustloff example, which tend to highly sought by most G43 collectors plus very clean, PLUS a very cool and unique factory error. Honestly, I was expecting it to go for $6k or more. You just never know on these auctions.
I was out and about else I'd have bid a bit higher than I'd already bid. Sorry I missed that one.

I was the second highest bidder on this rifle and was actually in the shops parking lot bidding until I let it go. They wouldn't let me remove the bolt assembly to ensure it was all matching. Best I could determine was that the locking lugs were definitely matching. I promised myself a limit and stuck to it.
Congratulations to the "Texas Gun Fiend"!
I've handled this rifle now, it's absolutely beautiful in person.

Btw, the shop has a milled panel AC44 they're posting shortly. The carrier is matching and the metal is nice however the stock is heavily sanded, albiet not reshapen. Might be a good opportunity for someone to get into a decent G43 without spending a fortune.

Does anyone have a link to the closed auction? Price was a little high assuming the stock was untouched. Can’t tell from the one picture. If the stock was sanded or cleaned then someone over paid.

That’s a nice one. Gustloff rifles bring in quite a bit these days. $6k is around the going price now for a correct one that I have seen. If they will not allow an inspection of the internals, that’s a lot of money to gamble on that the rifle is correct. You then have to look at the overall rifle and decide what the chances are that something inside is wrong. They are a super pain to disassemble and reassemble, so I can see owners being hesitant doing that. But, that’s a lot of money on the table for an unknown.……

This is a G.43 ac44 that I bought in the Tulsa/Spring ‘23 gun show. I began checking this rifle out thinking it probably wasn’t correct and getting the information off of the gun for my G/K.43 listings. I began to see that the rifle was correct! The owner allowed a take down and fortunately avoided a disaster in the re-assembly. So, I bought it. The only thing wrong with it was it had an aftermarket mag and an aftermarket muzzle thread protector which I now have corrected. But, if the owner hadn’t allowed a take down I probably would not have bought it because although the stock and numbers matched externally, it had the two aftermarket components attached, so the chances are a little higher that something internal also could be wrong. In the end, the owner kept the aftermarket mag to sell separately. I was able to talk the owner down by I believe $100 dollars, and I was very fortunate to locate an original muzzle thread protector from a fellow forum member.

This is the only photo I have of the rifle at this time. The photo was taken right after I got home from the gun show. You can see the aftermarket muzzle thread protector installed as it’s more of a gray hue look to it. That gun show I also bought a nice P.38 gxy1945 holster. My favorite holster maker “gxy”.
