Different types of XI depot rifles

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding depot rifles. Specificially I want to know, why there are (at least) two different types of XI depot rifles. Is it because of the fact, that XI could be Hannover or Magdeburg?

The first rifle I have is simular to this one (of course with XI stamp, SN ist about 7,000)

I do not have any photos for this rifle at the moment but I can share some until the weekend.

The other rifles has a much larger XI stamp. You can see it in the picture attached.

Over 4-5 years it's possible that different stamps could be used. It could also just as easily be your theory, as we know both reworked K98k rifles (well, I have seen Hr and Mg marked repairs so the assumption is both places did it).
