Does this look off to anyone? 42 1940 sniper

I'm looking to get a bid in on this rifle but I have one issue with the sling. does that look like a true L&F sling to anybody? Ive bought from Siesel many times and he's a very reputable seller but the marking on the sling looks faked, All the L&F slings I have a very well defined deep stamps and one that is in mint condition can be worth over 200$

Sling is fake - VERY fake

Rifle is fake - VERY fake

Sreisel is a flake

Wouldn't go near that rifle with a 40ft pole. Someone is going to be taken to the cleaners on it.

DO NOT BID ON IT, nor MOST of his rifles as MOST are renumbered FAKES! There are HUNDREDS of posts about Larry Eisel on various internet forums, BARELY any of them positive! Gunboards.com has MANY for starters - there is a blatant renumber on the Japanese forum for a start - numbered AFTER the potential buyer enquired about it no less!

AVOID SREISEL AT ALL COSTS! Caveat Emptor

PS: not only is the sling MARKING fake, but the ENTIRE sling is a reproduction / Fake.

Kevin,

Pictures speak a THOUSAND words - don't read his "descriptions". The rifle is OBVIOUSLY a fake visually from MANY aspects - 1940 rifle in a late 1944/1945 Brno Kreigsmodell stock, with an H band (!!!!!!!!). Stock has been POORLY cleaned. Bolt has been LAUGHABLY renumbered (not even CLOSE in font, arrangement etc). The Zf41 scope and mount MAY be legitimate (looks OK), but the stock cut for it is amateur at best!

Not even a good "representative reproduction". It's VERY obvious its wrong.

I just checked the auction and the rifle is sold. The description now reflects the rifle as having a repro sling, post war added rail and mismatched later war stock. I don't know if the original description was this in any way, but apparently it is now accurately described.

"Buyer Beware" applies to all unseen purchases - especially online auctions.

However I got an Israeli K98 from Larry Reisel a few months ago that was far nicer than his description or photos depicted. I was very pleasantly
surprised. His photos don't do him any favors..all the rifles look the same colour.

He's a mixed bag, I would say probably most of the things he sells are ok....but he does sell some real humpers, and whats worse he generally knows they are humpers, and does not describe them as such.

Whether or not he is the humper is an open question, but you really must KNOW what you are buying if yoiu are buying from him....

Oh, he's been proven the humper - check the Gunboards Japanese forum! He serialled a DIFFERENT part as shown in the auction to match the rifle after the winner was suspicious and asked a question!!! He's been well and truly OUTED as being responsible.
