So here is my latest addition to the collection. I picked it up from another member here. It’s used but not abused proper example. I really am more of an early rifle guy, but this one really speaks to me with the walnut stock. I like to buy later war K98’s with walnut stocks when I can find them. Dot really did make a nice K98. Another friend of mine picked the 43 fnj up for me at SOS this past year. It may be my nicest bayonet. Any comments are more than welcome. Enjoy

Like you, I enjoy the late war rifles with walnut stocks. Very nice set!

Thank you! I think they look good together. Maybe some have thoughts on this, how likely was it that the rifle and bayonet years matched on sets carried by the Germans during war time?

dot43's in walnut are my favorite. One thing about the dot43 is in my observations they are the first k98's to show up with all stamped components. Even the H band is stamped and welded with e/135 proof. It seems Mauser Made these earlier on and chose to sell them off to Brunn1 than use them in their production . Maybe very sporadically they did ? Bruce can correct me if I'm wrong.. But, in mass production dot seems to have switched over fully first.

Always like walnut the best myself. So guess walnut was still used on mid year rifles if and when found in the wood pipe line. I was under the impression they were used up by mid 42.

Very nice combo. Congratulations. Were walnut trees more plentiful in czechoslavacia than Germany?
