From the looks of it I think it’s pretty good. I don’t see any import marks on it. It’s from the ee block so there is no cleaning rod but the bayonet lug still exists.

The only blemish is someone messed with the cocking piece. But it’s not super noticeable from a distance so I’m not really bothered by it.

That looks pretty nice. The dou44 is one of my favorites. I'll bet someone decocked the bolt and pulled on the cocking piece to reset it.

textbook for these. I love the transitional ones w/o the rod a very interesting time on the way to the KM. Have a couple myself including an ee i'll take a look. they also tend to be in this kind of condition too -- really crisp like this one. only stock markings should be a capital letter in the grip ("A", "E" etc.) and mfgr code in the channel typically "PHN" or "PHH". nice score I love dou and it's underappreciated I think since they are not so extensively marked as some others.

These are left over "Mauser" e/135 stamped parts that went to dot & dou.

Interesting! I was never aware they went to dot as well, very neat! As for tracking, this was compiled data that Stephan98K had and what's also available in volume 2B. That's how I found out that there are currently 8 rifles known to exist with my example included in that known 8. Just counted all the rifles that were reported with a welded H band

Thanks for the compliment as well on the rifle, she really is a true beauty! I can't really get enough of just how rough the stock is but fit and finish on the wood and especially metal finish wise, she's gorgeous. I'm still proud have it in my collection it's a highlight piece for me of my collection with it being tied with my AR 41 Luftwaffe.
