Damn that was awesome. 81 year old rifle (the barrel and action at least). Cleaned the bore, put on safety glasses and sent 10 rounds of Sellier & Beliot (sp) down the pipe. Steel butt plate gives your shoulder a sweet kiss saying "This rifle was used by men...to kill men."
I was pleasantly surprised the windage was really nice, I wondered though if this is typical for shooting elevation? I held the front post right under the bullseye at 100 yards, with the rear sight set as low as possible. Any thoughts?
Was shooting in a little Wyoming zephyr of about 50mph winds, nothing unusual
I really want to kill a bear with this rifle, but if I use this I really have to consider my range, I'll need to be blackpowder/archery distance to feel comfortable and ethical. Still too much snow last weekend to get up where I know two boars were denned.
Thanks for any input gentlemen.
