Hi everybody. First time poster here. I’ve had this 1938 dated FN Mauser for probably 20 years now, and I’m trying to figure out whether these rifles are worth much (thinking of selling it), if mine is just a hodge podge of parts, if anything looks off, etc.

There’s one thread on another forum about the 1938 FNs likely being sent to China?

Any input would be much appreciated!

Tried uploading pics but they were too big, so Imgur link below

I have collected several versions of the Belgium model 1924. Your receiver with the large FN crest and a date is one of the more difficult to find in my experience.

Value depends on condition and originality. Your rifle has an upper band from a late war K98k and the lower band is either incorrect or missing its sling swivel, hard to tell from the picture. Also the bolt is incorrect, looks to be from a German Kar.98a or possibly a Polish K98. If it is Polish please sell it to me😀. Like most of these, the condition on yours is well worn.

In summary, it is a parts gun. If you wanted to sell it I would get a good ID on the bolt. If it is a matching Kar. 98 bolt or Polish, even if non matching, I would sell that separately. A FN made straight handle bolt is not hard to find, or correct bands either for that matter. I have all of them in my parts box.
