Trying to get more involved in the forum, and noticed a lack of German uniforms! I'm going to slowly change that.
Here is a textbook German Artillery Officers tunic. The rank is Hauptmann (captain). Typically officer tunics on the market are completely tailer made with quality materials, and shaped to fit the wearer for sharpness. Often the tailer made tunics were worn for dress occasions, and generally not worn in the field. For combat, German officers often had enlisted issued tunics modified for a sharper look while still retaining their durability for field use. This tunic started its life as an EM M42 tunic manufactured in 1943 and accepted by army depot Stettin. The officer had a tailer modify the tunic with an officer style eagle and litzen as well as the dark green collar and pleats added to the upper pockets only. The lower pockets were not modified from the original m42 configuration. The bandage pouch was retained, and there is no dagger hanger accommodation which was essential for dress occasions. These features indicate that this tunic was intended for field/combat use. I hope you enjoy, and more to come.
