Germania Waffenwerk A.G. Zella-Mehlis

We need clear closeup photos of the reciever area and barrel just ahead of the reciever
in order to give you an accurate assessment.

Receiver is a small ring 98. Made from something like a 98a or G33/40? We might be able to tell more from pictures on the underside of the receiver and barrel markings and of any proof marks. Stock style looks like it's US from the 1950/60s. Maybe a re-stock? Germania Waffenwerk seems to be a predecessor company to Anschutz.

The German Huntings Guns site has an extensive section on the Anschutz family and associated companies. https://www.germanhuntingguns.com/archives/anschutz-family-suhl-zella-mehlis/

Thanks guys i have read the Anschutzs history on the hunting gun sights it is not stamped JGA but it is a J A Anschutzs built rifle the proof marks show from 1939 to 1945. It has a Carl ZEISS scope and it is a 7x64 Brenneke not a military style rifle but the time period has me puzzed as with the war effort going on I will send some more pics.. thanks for the reply’s.
