Well I got it today. The bore is in great shape only has some very light pitting in a few area. The rifle is all matching but the magazine floor plate and spring. Stock has serial number and markings still. The bolt does not match the rifle but is all matching. For $550 I think I did ok. Sling also looks great. Very happy with my drinking purchase.E7595062-0D27-484B-8663-48C5D650131D.jpegA3060191-99BF-4B9A-8CF6-D8D83D02946F.jpegF9DB3EA3-563A-4DBA-8AEC-51959033A83A.jpeg11EB2F34-D1CB-4EDC-B3D8-41A48B38024F.jpeg10B288AD-83B7-4A48-8FA0-C855716DF1FB.jpeg6601144F-61E5-4841-AA4C-AF20A85D11FF.jpeg183BCA14-ABBD-4597-80F5-6FD90905B41B.jpeg

Did well indeed for that price. The butt plate looks quite good and mostly free of rust/corrosion. Serial no. not too far off from my 243 1940. Always great to see another from the same year/maker as mine. Thanks for sharing.

Can't quite make the block letter out, is it a 'h' block?
If so, it's also very close to my 243 1940, which is a' 'g' block in the high 9000 numbers.

Yeah thought it looked like an h myself. Mine is a t block with mid 5000 nos. Great having it as bringback from dear old dad.
