Gustloff late "a" block

Hi All,

I'm a bit behind on posting my WW2 stuff, as things have been pretty busy in Imperial collecting, but had this one out for photos finally.

I picked this up last summer from one of my good friends for a lot less than i should have paid. I used to have an early "b" block Gustloff but ended up selling it, so this one filled a nice gap in my 43s.

9590 a, e/749 acceptance, circle "v" on small parts, all text book. aye mag. The bcd code is actually below the wood line as you sometimes see on these. The rifle matches and presents well with a couple of minor blips--

1) The stock was duffel cut in the front right behind the band spring and has been repaired.
2) The stock was very lightly sanded (my opinion anyway), most likely when the d/c was repaired. The stock stamps are still pretty crisp, the stock surface just doesn't look 100% right, so I suspected sanding.
3) The dust cover is the later manual type. The finish matches well, but this is likely a later replacement by a collector.

Anyway, here are the pics.

Thank you for posting! It’s not every day you get to examine such a hard to find rifle. Each bcd G.43 seems to have its own different character. This is a new one in my bcd rifle serial number collection. I don’t get to add many of these very often. I don’t think I have ever come across one where the bcd is below the wood line like that-neat!

I agree likely lightly hit it’s a neat rifle still!!

I like the waa on the rear
Receiver part.

Stellar example, Chris.
Thanks buddy!

Happy to help, I've got a couple more selfloaders I'll post when I get time. I think "rare" gets thrown around too much with G/K43s, but these Gustloffs sure are hard to find nice! I'm grateful I crossed paths with it.

Beautiful addition
Thanks!

Thanks Andrew! The WaA on the rear I found by accident. I was looking to see if this one had been fired enough for the rear to start to bow (like you sometimes see) and noticed it.
