High Turret sniper on RIA. ????

I don't know how anyone could say for sure due to three photos and a photo that just doesn't need to be in there. That space could have been better utilized with another rifle area photo.

O.k. I have seen Rock Island sell this same High Turret 3 times in the last 5 years. What's the deal? Is it legit? I can't tell from the few pictures but perhaps some of you here have seen more of this rifle. Opinions please.

There could be many issues or none ? One thing most aren't aware of is that the house may buy an item if they see if going cheap. Then to resell it @ a later auction for profit.
Nice huh. This happened to someone I know. Some of these auctions are so weighed down with items it hurts the overall sale. Rock Island is looking out for one person. THEM..

A place to best be avoided IMHO unless you can go there and hand inspect the items.. My 2-cents.

I would consider this post a turd alert since it is an upcoming auction. There is probably something wrong with it that you can not see in these photos. That is true of a LSR I knew of they tried to sell many times. Also, the DKL scopes that I have heard about and seen pictures of were for Sauer High or Low Turrets. They say the scope matches the rifle so that raises issues with this in my mind because this is a BYF 44 with a matching DKL scope. The rear ring looks bent slightly to make the scope fit on the rifle. Does anyone here have a DKL scope numbered for a BYF rifle?

Wayne, this has been my opinion also. I stay away from these guys. I was aware of how they buy and resell. But I was surprised to see this a third time. Here are more pictures I saved from previous auctions. I believe the front ring number is fake.

Buying guns from RI is like playing the lotto. You can ask for photos and they will give them, but if you get the gun and it's bad you own it, they have no return privileges. With that said I have been rewarded before for taking the gamble, but I've also taken it on the chin.

That is because it used to be numbered on the lower lip of the front ring like a Sauer Turret Scope. Now it has been renumbered on the ring itself like a Mauser built turret to match this rifle. That is what I think.

If it's matching sniper for sale at a major auction, I just assume that it's a fake. If it was halfway decent, someone would've grabbed it before.

It's a fake ...

Well I not so sure that the whole rifle is fake but the scope ring numbering sure is. The rest of the gun may be fine. From picture of the receiver that they show, the serial and base look good to me. Has anybody seen this gun in person or seen detail pictures of it? It probably has lots of issues but the base and receiver are probably good, which is way RIA always shows pictures of the good parts.
